The Managed Integrity Monitoring Service provides nGuard clients with vital 24x7x365 monitoring of changes to web servers, DNS servers, and SSL certificates. Unauthorized modification of these services can indicate website defacement, DNS hijacking, and certificate compromise. When unauthorized changes are detected, clients are immediately notified of what was changed and when.
With the release of MIMS 2.1, a major new feature was introduced: Dynamic Content Bypass (DCB). Utilizing DCB, web page integrity monitoring is further enhanced by allowing customers to flag key sections of web pages as always changing. This allows MIMS to ignore, or bypass, the dynamic sections of monitored web pages, while continuing to monitor the static content of a given page. This allows:
- DCB to correctly handle session identifiers that are incorporated into each invocation of the web page.
- DCB to correctly handle web pages that handle CAPTCHA.
- Overall reduction of false positives.
“MIMS is an increasingly important service that helps our clients manage risk,” said Managing Partner, Jim Brown. “With the new DCB feature, customers are able to monitor more of their public facing websites, while minimizing false positives. Increased website coverage, along with MIMS’ long standing ability to accurately fingerprint and monitor websites, helps to protect customers’ web presence around the clock.”
